East Jefferson Little League Season Begins
East Jefferson Little League is excited to kick off its 2024 season! Registration has opened for Jefferson County kids ages 4-16 and is open to all skill levels for baseball, softball and t-ball. We are anticipating over 150 kids and their families to come out to the Bob Bates Field in Port Hadlock on Saturday, March 23rd for our 2024 Jamboree, which includes opening ceremonies, food, and lots of fun for the whole family!
Important Dates to Remember:
Softball Clinic: Free, for ages 6 to 10. Saturday, February 3rd from 12:30 to 3:30 at the East Jefferson Little League Field. (Same day registration starts at 12:00, with check-in starting at 12:15 or register at https://www.ejlittleleague.com/Default.aspx?tabid=2736289)
Last Day to Register: Wednesday, February 14th
Skill Assessments: Saturday & Sunday, February 17th and 18th. For all softball, minor, intermediate and major division players. Times will be announced on our Facebook page and website soon.
District Umpire Training: Saturday, February 24th in Port Orchard
Jamboree: March 23rd
Picture Day: tentatively scheduled for late March or early April
Closing Ceremony/Party: June 8th
All Star Practices: Begin June 10th
General Practices start February 26th; T-Ball Practices begin March 11th
East Jefferson Little League Board needs your help!
East Jefferson Little League first chartered in Port Hadlock in 1971 and has been able to return annually because of the strong community support and many volunteers that are vital to the success of the program. Our league relies heavily on our volunteers and generous community members that donate time, goods, and funding to sustain our league through the years.
Our current East Jefferson Little League Board has been working behind the scenes for the past year to make this our strongest league year yet. We are looking for two more board members for 2024: Vice President and Lower Scheduling Coordinator. The Vice President role is responsible, with the Player Agent and Coach Coordinator, to conduct the tryouts, the player draft and all other player transaction or selection meetings; support the president as needed; oversee functional board positions alongside the president, working to make sure all aspects of little league are met. The Lower Scheduling Coordinator will maintain Local League schedule for T-ball thru prep baseball with other leagues. To apply for either position, send a letter of interest to [email protected].
We are also looking for coaches to make this year possible. We are still in need of 1 coach for a prep team (ages 6 to 8), 1 coach for a major team (ages 9 to 12) and 1 coach for an intermediate team (ages 12 to 13). If interested, contact [email protected].
Want to volunteer in a different way? We need independent skill assessors, umpires, help in the concessions, and so much more. All volunteers must complete a free, mandatory Little League International Little League International BASE Abuse Awareness Training in order to volunteer within our program.
